The legacy of François-Xavier Lachance
Mr. Lachance’s boathouse was near the church of Saint-Laurent, a few steps from the Shipyard of Saint-Laurent. Now the building is used by the local company Tigidou which makes homemade jams. Also, the former presbytery of Saint-Laurent, opposite from the former rowboat shop, was renamed in honor of François-Xavier. The building is called Espace F-X Lachance. His family is still very involved in projects involving his legacy.
